| "POOR OF SPIRIT" This poverty is poverty of the spirit not poverty of the body. It indicates than man is drawn toward withdrawal from the urges of ambition, the pride of success, the desire for riches, etc Man wishes to rest entirely with all hopes only in God, his Creator. He realizes that without God he is utterly helpless, and this knowledge enables him to trust and obey. Man's reward for maintaining this life style is eternal salvation, joyfully dwelling with God, His angels and His Saints in Heaven. |
